1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Roadrunner mobile application operated by High Desert Traffic.

App Name: Roadrunner

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you may contact us using the email address above.
2. Information the App Collects
The Roadrunner mobile application does not support the creation of standalone consumer user accounts. Users authenticate through their organization’s ArcGIS Online platform, and access to the application is governed by organizational membership, roles, and permissions.
Roadrunner stores limited user information necessary for application functionality, including the user’s ArcGIS Online username and organization identifier.
With the user’s explicit permission, Roadrunner accesses the device’s GPS location to support in-application tools and workflows. Roadrunner does not persistently store the user’s device location. Any location data stored by the application relates solely to real-world or virtual objects represented within the application, such as infrastructure assets or survey features, and cannot be used to accurately identify or track the user’s personal location.
Photos and other media may be uploaded from the user’s device only through explicit user action and permission. Uploaded media is stored in secure databases with access restricted to authorized parties. Any identifying information contained within uploaded media is provided at the discretion of the user and is the responsibility of the user and the authorized organization accessing that data.
Roadrunner does not collect or store advertising identifiers, IDFA, persistent hardware identifiers, or data used for cross-app tracking.
Crash logs and diagnostic information may be transmitted to High Desert Traffic only when explicitly initiated by the user. Diagnostic data may include the user’s ArcGIS Online username and organization identifier. All such data is stored using encrypted storage systems maintained by High Desert Traffic.
3. How Information Is Collected
Information is collected through direct user interaction with application tools and workflows, as well as through authenticated network requests required to access secured resources.
Roadrunner communicates with ArcGIS Online services using the ArcGIS SDK for Swift, which provides authenticated and authorized access to geospatial data, feature services, and organizational resources. The application also communicates with secured HTTP endpoints hosted by High Desert Traffic to support operational functionality.
Roadrunner does not use third-party analytics SDKs, background tracking services, or automatic data collection mechanisms.
All device permissions, including location and photo access, are explicitly requested at runtime. Users may revoke any granted permissions at any time through iOS system settings.
4. How We Use Information
Roadrunner is provided under contract for use by State Departments of Transportation and other authorized organizations. Information collected through the application is used solely for legitimate operational purposes, including:
- Improving application performance and reliability
- Providing customer service and technical support
- Supporting secure authentication and access control
- Preventing unauthorized access to restricted data
Roadrunner does not collect or use information for marketing, advertising, or commercial profiling purposes.
5. Data Sharing With Third Parties
Roadrunner does not sell, rent, or share user data with advertising networks, analytics providers, or marketing platforms.
Data accessed or generated by the application is limited to systems owned, managed, or contractually controlled by High Desert Traffic and the user’s authorized organization, including ArcGIS Online services and High Desert Traffic-hosted infrastructure.
No data is shared with third parties for advertising, analytics, or commercial profiling purposes.
6. Data Retention
Roadrunner is designed for organizational use rather than individual consumer use. Data retention policies are governed by contractual agreements and organizational policies between High Desert Traffic and the organizations using the application.
Data is retained only for as long as necessary to meet operational, legal, and contractual requirements. Individual users do not directly control data retention, as all data is owned and managed by the organization under which the user is authorized.
7. User Rights and Choices
Roadrunner does not maintain standalone personal user profiles. Requests for access to, modification of, or deletion of data are governed by the policies and administrative controls of the organization under which the user is authorized.
Users retain control over application permissions, including location services, photo access, and notifications, through iOS system settings. Permissions may be disabled at any time.
8. Children’s Privacy
Roadrunner is not directed to children under the age of 13, and High Desert Traffic does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.
If High Desert Traffic becomes aware that personal information has been collected from a child under the age of 13, reasonable steps will be taken to delete such information.
9. Security Measures
Roadrunner uses industry-standard security practices to protect information. All network communications are encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access to secured resources is controlled through ArcGIS Online organizational authentication, private user groups, and role-based access controls.
Data is stored in secure remote databases hosted on ArcGIS Online and Amazon Web Services, with access restricted to authorized systems and personnel.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
High Desert Traffic may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the effective date will be updated accordingly.
Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically for updates.
